Iseki is the world leader in the field of remotely controlled tunnelling and microtunnelling shields, supplying equipment worldwide.

The group draws upon over 20 years' tunnelling experience and with offices located in Japan, Bangkok, and the UK. Iseki can offer expert project advice ranging from comment on design to after sales support on a global scale. Shields are supplied in sizes ranging from 250mm to 3000mm ID. Systems offered include both slurry and EPB modes

Probably the best known, and still the best selling system is the Iseki Unclemole. There are over 2000 shields in use throughout the world. The Unclemole features a patented eccentric cone-crusher head, well known for its excellent performance in a wide range of ground conditions.

Iseki's philosophy of continued progress has resulted in the development of several new advancements including a system designed for the rapid excavation of rock and Data Logging Systems (which is a sophisticated recording device capable of logging 14 different functions simultaneously).

In addition to providing a comprehensive support service, Iseki offers customers the choice of hiring or purchasing equipment depending on their individual requirements.

Group company, Barhale Construction Services (BCS), provides a traditional plant hire service to both internal and external customers. Byzak Limited is a main and specialist contractor, offering a complete underground construction service, ranging from conventional hand tunnelling and pipe jacking, to mechanised tunnelling in hard and soft ground. Shaft sinking is undertaken using a variety of methods including underpinning and caissons with carcase concrete, diaphragm walling etc. Tanks and chambers in reinforced concrete are also undertaken.

The company owns the most comprehensive and versatile range of sophisticated remote controlled full face microtunnelling and tunnelling machines of any UK contractor, capable of dealing with ground conditions ranging from water bearing soft soils to strong rock for all pipe sizes from 600mm to 2500mm diameter, and drive lengths in excess of 500metres for the larger machines.

In addition, the company owns Earth Pressure Balance (EPB) tunnelling machines and open faced machines incorporating roadheaders and back-actors for pipejacking and segmental methods for tunnel diameters 1500mm to 3350mm diameter.

Planned maintenance of all machines is carried out in the company\'s modern plant workshops. Byzak Plant works closely with site personnel and external hire customers to develop machines for specific site conditions.

Byzak undertakes all types of civil and structural engineering contracts, and mechanical, electrical and instrumentation works, the latter through its specialist in house division SEMPi. FP McCann Ltd� (formerly Hepworth Concrete)� is the UK's largest manufacturer of jacking and micro tunnelling pipes producing a complete range from 450mm to 2400mm ID in concrete.

F & B Limited was formed in 1995 by Liam Burke and Sean Fallon who collectively have over 45 years experience in the field of pipejacking, augerboring, tunnelling, shaft sinking and micro-tunnelling.

Since formation the company has grown steadily and has built up a substantial clientele.

The Company presently has an annual turnover of 4 million and can carry out contracts ranging from 5,000.00 to 1,000,000.00. The company also has the capacity to carry out several major contracts at any one time. We achieve this by retaining fully trained, experienced supervisors and operatives all year round.

From F & B�s track record on works undertaken, it can be demonstrated that the company has the ability, flexibility and capability within their own organisation to deal with any unforeseen circumstances that may arise, knowing that all obstacles and difficulties have to be overcome, without delaying the outcome of the project.

Herrenknecht International Limited is a subsidiary of Herrenknecht AG covering the UK and Ireland. Selling and marketing Herrenknecht tunnelling equipment and Bohrtec guided auger boring equipment, giving our customers the ability to successfully complete tunnels of all sizes.

Herrenknecht are world leaders in the manufacture of tunnelling equipment, designing and manufacturing a full range of modern tunnelling machines and back-up machinery for pipejack or segmentally lined tunnels. These include mixshield/slurry, earth pressure balance (EPB), excavator, roadheader, rock and auger boring.

Johnston Microtunnelling is a wholly owned subsidiary of John Mowlem PLC. Johnston was founded in 1924 and has built up specialist experience, over many years, of general tunnelling, pipe jacking, microtunnelling, auger boring and directional drilling work.

Specialist auger boring, directional drilling, pipejacking and shaft sinking work is carried out by the company\'s TW Mwchanical Headings division.

The company owns an extensive fleet of specialist plant and equipment, enabling ground conditions from hard rock to water bearing silts to be tackled with confidence. Stanton Bonna Concrete are part of the major Bonna Sable Group who are Europe's leading supplier of precast concrete drainage products. Its centrally based UK manufacturing facility supplies a variety of products, including circular concrete pipes, manholes, elliptical concrete pipes, concrete pressure pipes, concrete jacking pipes, concrete railway sleepers and GRP sewer liners.

Historically, the production of concrete jacking pipes within the UK has been by either "centrifugal spinning" or by "wet casting" techniques. A third method exists which has been used extensively throughout mainland Europe over a number of years. With this method, pipes are vertically cast using a semi-dry concrete mix with completion being achieved by high frequency vibration. Following an extensive development programme and utilising the experience of our sister European companies, Stanton Bonna have now perfected this technique to consistently manufacture jacking pipes to the high standards demanded by the UK jacking market.

All our concrete jacking pipes comply fully with BS EN 5911 : Part 120 and by the third party kitemark scheme. All our operations are covered by a Quality System complying with BS EN ISO 9002.
